Computer Assessments and Outreach
Do you need advice regarding accessible computer equipment, suitable software, or outreach support?
We provide practical one-to-one assessments, training, rehabilitation, palliative, artistic, musical and cognitive assistance to people with a wide range of physical, sensory, learning and neurological disabilities.
Following an assessment for an individual needs, support may be provided at home, or we may recommend attendance at the Activities Centre subject to availability of funding.
We also work directly with professional clinicians to provide personal assessments.
This service offers advice on a wide range of subjects including the following:
Computer Accessories
Such as mouse alternatives, keyboards, touchscreens, switches.
Accessible Software
Including voice recognition, on screen keyboards, eyegaze, simple Windows solutions.
Communication Aids
Both Hi-Tech and Lo-Tech, for example, Lightwriters and eye gaze boards.
Soundbeam
Soundbeam is based upon movement and sound. In essence, the principle of the equipment is that any kind of movement made, breaks an invisible beam produced by the "sensors", and sound is produced. We can transport Soundbeam to any location for immediate use with individuals or groups of people.
