We have been very fortunate to be made Charity of the Year by 3 local organisations: AXA PPP Healthcare, Nationwide Building Society (South East and Weald) and Nizels Golf Club. Both clients and staff say a big 'THANK YOU!'
COMPAID Trust - Charity of the Year - AXA PPP Healthcare
We are proud to announce that AXA PPP Healthcare, a branch of the global AXA Group and one of the biggest employers in Tunbridge Wells, has chosen COMPAID Trust as their Charity of the Year, 2006.
In July 2006 COMPAID will celebrate its 20th anniversary and Graham Thomas, Community Manager for AXA PPP Healthcare, has pledged his support, and that of his colleagues, for making this a memorable year. Graham is already making plans for some attention-grabbing events such as an in-house intranet auction (run on similar lines to a well-known Internet auction website), and ‘Stars in their Eyes’ variety special. Earlier this month Graham presented COMPAID Trust Chief Executive, Betty Howell, with a magnificent cheque for £4,810, the proceeds of a recent charity Pantomime performance.
Thanks to Graham Thomas and all the staff at AXA PPP Healthcare, Tunbridge Wells. We look forward to getting to know you over the next 12 months and working with you on events and projects.
COMPAID Trust - Charity of the Year - Nationwide
(South East and Weald)
Hot on the heels of the news that AXA PPP Healthcare had chosen COMPAID Trust as its Charity of the Year, 2006, came the announcement that Nationwide South East and Weald (part of the national Nationwide bank and building society group) has chosen COMPAID as its Charity of the Year.
At the beginning of February COMPAID Trust Chief Executive, Betty Howell, was delighted to welcome Nationwide representatives Julia Sinden and Peter Gumbrell to our Activity Centre and to introduce them to some of our clients and staff. It turned out that Peter had visited COMPAID about 10 years ago, but neither he nor any of the long-serving staff members could remember what event brought him to us. It is possible that Peter came to hand over a special-needs adapted minibus, a gift from Nationwide – in which case thank you, Nationwide, for past help and we look forward to working with you during 2006.
If anyone, COMPAID clients and staff or Nationwide staff, would like to suggest ideas for joint events, please get in touch with Barry O’Sullivan, Fundraising Manager, on 01892 824060. Just one thing to remember – Nationwide staff did a sponsored parachute jump last year, so that’s off this years’ list of things to do.
COMPAID Trust - Charity of the Year – Nizels
Golf Club
In Autumn 2005 the incoming Captains of Golf at Nizels Golf Course, Sevenoaks
Weald, adopted COMPAID Trust as their Charity of the Year. Betty Howell and
Barry O’Sullivan attended the Captains’ Drive In (or should that
be drive-off?) and had the opportunity to meet some of the playing members
and the outgoing Captains in the luxurious surroundings of the clubhouse. Click
on this link to see their website.
Bobbi Ramsammy and Mike Griffin, respectively Ladies and Men’s Captains,
were shocked to hear the news that COMPAID Trust was having to leave Pembury
Hospital, the charity’s home for the past 18 years, in June 2006, but
both have promised their continued support for us. We look forward to meeting
more of the playing and non-playing members of the club during the year hearing
some tall tales from the locker room!
